German Grand Prix rider Dominique Bunse has sold her number one FEI horse First Edition to Korea. The horse will be an Olympic hopeful for Korean Dongheon Nam.

First Edition is a 15-year old Westfalian gelding by Fiano out of Dawina (by Dynast). He is bred by Karl Eping. He was owned by Bunse in partnership with Gregor Laudon.

The liver chestnut was first competed as a 3-year old by Elisabeth Niehues-Rembeck. Three months later Paul Swaegers rode him in the riding horse tests. In 2008 Marion Uhlenbrauck climbed on board and showed him that spring and summer at A-level before he got sold to Bunse.

Bunse and First Edition became a pair as of the autumn of 2008. In 2012 they reached small tour level and in March 2013 they rode their first international at the CDI Stadl Paura in Austria. In 2014 they showed in their first national Grand Prix level tests. Their international Grand Prix debut was at the CDI Lier in November 2015.

Since then they showed at CDI's in Roosenaal, Compiegne, Lamprechtshausen, Nieuw en St. Joosland, Brno and the Aachen Dressage Days. The latter show in May 2018 was their last international. Their last competition together, however, was a national event in Leudelange (LUX) in the last weekend of March 2019.

Bunse has now sold First Edition to Seoul based Korean dressage rider Dongheon Nam, who trains in Germany with Yvonne Fiestelmann.

"Dongheon and 'Eddi' are preparing themselves with me for their first starts at S-level," said Fiestelmann. "Our mutual goal is participating in the qualification events for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics."

The 30-year old Nam is no newcomer to the scene. He won gold at the 2017 Korean Dressage Championships and team silver at the 2018 Asian Games aboard Fiestelmann's Release (by Royaldik x Contender).
