Six combinations competed in the Under 25 division at the 2019 CDI Waregem in Belgium on 12 - 14 September 2019. Dutch Mercedes Verweij and Russian Aleksandra Maksakova were the winners in three classes held that weekend.
Verweij and her schoolmaster Four Seasons, a 15-year old Westfalian gelding by Furst Piccolo x Mon Cheri which Diederik van Silfhout competed on the Dutch team at the 2017 European Championships in Gothenburg, won the Intermediaire II and Kur to Music. In the first class she scored 69.206% for the victory. In the Short Grand Prix she was second with 69.103% and in the Kur she was back on top with 70.875%.
Russian Aleksandra Maksakova, who was coached by Jorinde Verwimp in Waregem, was Verweij’s biggest rival. Aboard her 13-year old Dutch warmblood gelding Bojengeks (by Samba Hit II x Aktion) she was second in the Inter II with 68.853%, but went on to win the Short Grand Prix on 70.564%. She withdrew from the Kur to Music.
