Fifty Ways to Victory, the top ride of 2019 Belgian Young Riders champion Kayleigh Buelens, has been sold to the U.S.A.
German horse dealer Jochen Arl scouted the gelding upon request of trainer Sabine Schut-Kery, who had been searching for a star horse for her student Danielle Bonavito.
Fifty Ways to Victory is a 7-year old Oldenburg gelding by Foundation out of Florida (by Harvard). He is bred in Germany by American Holly Simensen.
The Buelens family bought Fifty as a 3-year old and Kayleigh trained him up to small tour level with the help of her coach, Carmen De Bondt.
Kayleigh made her international show debut on Fifty at the 2018 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo, The Netherlands, where they were fourth in the consolation finals.
In 2019 the duo focused on the young riders' division and competed at CDI's in Sint-Truiden and Compiegne, earning an easy Belgian team selection for the 2019 European Young Riders Championships with their strong scores. In San Giovanni in Marignano, Italy, Buelens was the highest placed young rider for Belgium, ranking 12th in the Kur to Music. Two weeks after the Europeans, the duo won the 2019 Belgian Young Riders Championships.
Arl sold Fifty Ways to Victory to the Bonavito family in September.
Fifty is now in Wellington, Florida, where the 21-year old Bonavito is preparing to compete at the 2020 Global Dressage Festival. Danielle showed at the 2014 North American Junior Riders Championships on Wyoming and briefly at international young riders' level in 2015. She is now getting ready for her big break through in the senior divisions.
