The Dutch warmblood licensed stallion Blue Hors Zack will not be standing at stud in 2020 as he has been long listed as a candidate for the Danish team for the 2020 Olympic Games. All focus this year will go to sport.
Danish team rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen has two horses in the running for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo: Blue Hors Zack and his son Blue Hors Zepter.
"From a horse welfare perspective, we at Blue Hors believe that it will be for the benefit of Zack not having to put his efforts into the breeding season, whilst at the same time, he is in full training with the focus to represent Denmark at the Olympics," says breeding manager Martin Klavsen.
At Blue Hors stud in Denmark, Zack is strongly represented in his sons, Blue Hors Zackerey and Blue Hors Zackorado.
"As my two top horses Blue Hors Zack and Blue Hors Zepter are evidently both my Olympic hopes this year. It is impossible to foresee which of the two will come into play for Tokyo, but we believe that the best we can do for Zack is to free him from breeding duties in order to be able to fully focus on the sport," says Daniel about his 16-year old partner.
Zack (by Rousseau x Jazz x Belisar) is Danish dressage champion, a World Cup top, European Championhip and WEG finalist.
