The internationally competed Grand Prix stallion Tobajo Pik Disney has been retired from top sport. The Norwegian warmblood is 15 years old.

Tobajo Pik Disney is a 2005 born Norwegian warmblood by Tobajo Picez out of What's Up (by Walt Disney). He is bred by Tormod Bakke Johnson in Norway.

Norwegian Star

Presented by the Norwegian Trude Hestengen, the stallion was proclaimed proclaimed champion of the 2010 Norwegian Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Vestfold as a 5-year old.

In 2009 the FEI listed the horse as owned by Ann-Cathrin Hosson and Connie Mjølnerød  while this ownership record changed to Hestengen and her family in 2010.

The Danish based Hestengen made her international show debut on Tobajo Pik Disney at the 2011 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, where they were 9th in the 6-year old consolation finals.

They made their international small tour debut at the 2013 CDI Vestfold in February 2013 and in the autumn of that year already moved up to Grand Prix level.

They represented Norway at the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Caen, where they were 56th, and at the 2015 European Dressage Championships in Aachen where they finished 24th in the Grand Prix Special. They were the 2013 and 2015 Norwegian Grand Prix champions.

In August 2015 Swedish Jenny Linden-Urnes of Christinelund Dressage purchased Pik Disney as a new Grand Prix horse for her head rider, Sofie Lexner.

Lexner began her international Grand Prix career with the Westfalian Charming Boy who was her CDI partner from 2011 and 2014 and Tobajo Pik Disney was meant to boost her career to the next level.

Lexner and Tobajo Pik Disney made their show debut at the 2016 CDN Hedensted in Denmark and scored 65.461% in the Inter II and 67.567% in the Grand Prix. At their first Swedish national show in Astorp on 18 March 2016 they got 67.23% in the Inter II. It was their last event as the horse got injured.

Struggle with Injury

Lexner and Disney had a quiet show come back on 11 November 2016 in the test of choice class at in Ankum, as they had been training in Germany with Patrik Kittel. Their Swedish return was at the 2017 CDN Astorp, where they scored 70.733% in the Grand Prix for the victory.

A month later their finally made their international show debut at the 2017 CDI Nieuw en St. Joosland, where they posted 70.780% in the Grand Prix. Another injury sidelined the stallion again for more than a year, but Lexner's pregnancy (summer 2017) and the birth of her child (March 2018) also kept them away from the show ring.

The pair made a second international come back at the 2018 CDI Falsterbo, where they posted 70.00% in the Grand Prix and a month later they rode at the CDI Verden, where they earned 72.065% in the Grand Prix.

Unfortunately Verden was Disney last international show.

"Disney is the king of our stables. He is enjoying his retirement with long days in his field," Christinelund Dressage confirmed.

Sofie Lexner added that, "Disney is retired from top sport and is now in light training as a schoolmaster. The decision was made a year ago because of returning injuries."
