The 15-year old Hanoverian licensed breeding stallion Fürst Nymphenburg has been sold to Spain.

Fürst Nymphenburg is by Florencio out of Donner de Nero (by De Niro x Argentinus x Papi's Boy xx). He is bred at Zuchthof Fries.

Licensed and Linked to Celle

The chestnut stallion was first licensed in Verden at the 2007 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing. Owner Helmut von Fircks sold a minority share to the Celle State Stud.

He did a 300-day stallion performance test in 2008 in Adelheidsdorf and scored 147.23 for dressage (1st place) and 101.11 for show jumping (10th), finishing first overall with an index of 134.98 points.

Fürst Nymphenburg has stood in Celle the majority of the time, but returned to Gestut Nymphenburg for a period.

He was first trained and competed by Celle's Wolfhard Witte. The pair made its show debut in 2008. They were reserve champions at the 2008 Hanoverian Young Horse Championships in Verden and placed 9th at the 2008 Bundeschampionate.

To Grand Prix, then Schoolmaster

At the 2008 Bundeschampionate
Furst Nymphenburg then disappeared for almost four years from the show ring, making his return to the arena under Tessa Frank, who at the time was Gestut Nymphenburg's head rider.

The new pair competed at M-level in 2012, moved up to S-level in 2013 and tried for the Nurnberger Burgpokal (Developing PSG circuit) in 2014. They made it to the Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals in Frankfurt and finished 7th. In 2015 the pair moved up to developing Grand Prix level but didn't make it to the Louisdor Finals. They did only one show in 2016 and returned in March 2017 for more Intermediaire II level competition.

In 2018 Fürst Nymphenburg became a schoolmaster for junior rider Sina Ellers and competed at several regional shows in north Germany.  The CDN at Hof Bettenrode in July 2018 was the horse's last competition under Ellers. In 2019 he did two shows with new rider Vanessa-Sarah Hahnrath.

Breeding Stallion

As a breeding stallion Fürst Nymphenburg has produced seven licensed sons, including Fool's Paradise, Furst Highness, Furst Wallenstein, Furst Weedern, Furstenstern, First Row and a still nameless one.

Through Celle Fürst Nymphenburg found good access to mares. 251 of his daughters are registered as broodmares and 66 of them are state premium mares. In sport 562 offspring are registered with the German equestrian federation and 21 of them are already successful at S-level.

His most successful offspring is sport is Franko, who is a winning two-in-hand carriage horse with Marcella Meinecke. He finished 7th at the 2019 German Driving Championships in Zeiskam. He also sired the international junior rider's horse Fly Rio (Mathilde von Guttenberg). The most prize money was won by his daughter Julia's Diamond Princess, in S-level show jumping!

New Life in Spain

Furst Nymphenburg
Six months ago Helmut von Fircks sold his majority share in the ownership of Fürst Nymphenburg to Celle, but the stallion station has now sold the breeding stallion to Spain.

Fürst Nymphenburg's new owner is Jorge Elieser of equestrian centre Ganaderia Pueblo Nuevo near Madrid, Spain

"On Monday the horse will arrive  in Spain," Elieser told Spanish equestrian journalist Lily Forado. "I'm very happy. He is an exceptional horse, one of the elite stallions in Germany. Now with the purchase of Furst Nymphenburg and and a batch of Hanoverian mares, I will start a new breeding project as a PRE breeder."

Two years ago Elieser already purchased the highly popular PRE stallion Fer Bago, who is a triple SICAB winner, the World PRE Breeding Championships.

Fer Bago has become one of the best producers of PRE dressage horses in Spain with offspring such as Solo de Centurion and Resuelto CEN competing at the World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo. At PRE breed shows Fer Bago has gained much fame with sons Fer Bonachon and Zahara de Millán.

Elieser will now crack the warmblood breeding market in Spain with Fürst Nymphenburg as well as start a cross breeding project.
