The first online auction of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag will take place on Tuesday 16 June 2020 and will feature ten jumping and seven dressage foals.
On behalf of the selection committees, Willem van Hoof and Lauw van Vliet express their confidence in this exclusive foal collection. In order to facilitate both the international clients and the loyal breeders, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag organizes several online auctions this summer. Each containing a maximum of ten foals per breeding direction.
An impressive collection has been compiled for the first edition on Tuesday 16 June, in which the foals will be auctioned online.
Excellent movers
“We have set the bar very high and have been able to select very interesting dressage foals,” says Lauw van Vliet, who, together with Jacques Verkerk, is responsible for the selection of dressage foals.
“In that respect it is actually a pity that it is an online auction, because these foals undoubtedly had caused a lot of action at a traditional auction," he continued. "We have been very critical and therefore ended up with seven foals, partly because we had to designate a number of absolute eye-catchers for the next auction in July because they were a bit too young for this first auction. The seven foals that will be auctioned in June make an impression with their conformation, uphill movements and pedigree. The collection includes several colts that are prospects for the stallion approvals!”
For example, champion stallion Le Formidable has two black future talents in the collection.
Proven performance genes
“We immediately set the bar high for this first auction, as can be expected from Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. We have select ten striking foals with a lot of sport in the first generations and mainly proven breeding stallions in their pedigree. We made the first selection based on the pedigree and because we had a good offer, we could pick the most interesting ones,” explains Willem van Hoof. “The Prinsjesdag Foal Auction always aims for the best and that is no different with these online auctions. We are very satisfied with this first collection, which really has several highlights.”

Online auction
The auction will go live on Tuesday the 16 June at 7.30 pm, where Peter van der Waaij will receive the last bids live in the studio. As an auctioneer he will sell the foals on behalf of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag. The live online auction of the dressage foals start thereafter at 9 pm.
On the website all the information, videos and photos can be found. In addition, because it is an online auction, also footage has been made of the veterinary examination and, of course, the reports can be consulted on the website.
Interested parties can register on the website until 16 June to gain access to the bidding system.
