Dutch former young rider team member Diana van de Bovenkamp has joined the team of riders at Dressage Stable van Baalen.
The 21-year old Van de Bovenkamp has been training with Coby van Baalen since the age of 12.
Diana made her international show debut as a junior rider on Corvette (by Rhodium x Sandro Hit) in 2015. In 2016 she was selected on the Dutch team and won team silver at the European Junior Riders Championships in Oliva Nova, Spain. She finished 20th in the individual test.
A accident on 8 November 2016 kept Diana from the international show ring for a year and a half. Diana was kicked in the face during a lunging session and sustained multiple fractures to her face, which required multiple operations.
She returned to the arena in 2018 as a young rider with Evita Ronia (by Westpoint x Oscar). She returned on the Dutch team for the 2018 European Young Riders Championships in Fontainebleau, where she placed fourth in the Kur to Music after earning team silver. The pair competed at young riders level in 2019 but were not reselected on the team. They did win silver at the 2019 Dutch Young Riders Championships.
Out of young riders as of 2020, Diana showed Evita Ronia in the small tour at the CDI Lier in February and is now preparing her for the Under 25 tour.
Already a professional rider at home with six horses to train and students to teach, Van de Bovenkamp has now accepted a half time position at Dressage Stable van Baalen, where she will train and compete a set of horses, aged 5 to 10.
