It was to be the year of the first International Ludwigsburg Dressage Festival in front of Monrepos Castle in Ludwigsburg, featuring the stars of the sport, a lifestyle exhibition and entertainment for the whole family against the grandiose backdrop of the historic lakeside palace.

However, the global pandemic does not stop at big visions, and so the inaugural staging of the event will sadly be postponed to September 2021.

Postponed till 2021

“It is with a heavy heart that together with the riding club Ludwigsburg-Monrepos we decided to not go ahead with the Festival this year in September and instead look to 2021. It would be a shame to host the premiere of this event not only without the support of spectators, but also burdened by restrictions and health and safety requirements,” organiser Ulli Kasselmann describes the current situation.

Dressage fans and riders still have reason to look forward to September, with the sporting aspect of the dressage festival going ahead at two different venues over the same date. From September 24 - 27, there will be an international CDI3* at Hof Kasselmann in Hagen a.T.W.

The Horses and Dreams Entertainment team has already demonstrated in June and July that it can successfully run national competitions under safe conditions for everyone involved and will soon host the first international CDI tournament after the Corona break in Germany.

The riding club Ludwigsburg-Monrepos will host a regional event with classes up to Grand Prix level on the club’s grounds on the same weekend, and has also been confirmed as a qualification event for the prestigious Nürnberger Burgpokal.

“We are delighted that the Nürnberger Insurances are still holding a qualifier at Ludwigsburg and we are looking forward to great sport,” says club chairman Dr. Werner Hildenbrand on the support of Nürnberger Versicherung.

Unfortunately, both events will likely take place without public attendance. ClipMyHorse will provide a livestream.

For 2021, the International Ludwigsburg Dressage Festival will be scheduled from September 23 - 26.
