Blue Hors stud has given the ride on Blue Hors Zackerey, one of their top young stallions, to Danish based Spanish Olympian Severo Jurado Lopez.
Blue Hors Zackerey is a 6-year old Danish warmblood stallion by Blue Hors Zack out of Overgaard's Hit Me (by Sandro Hit x Solos Carex).
He was a premium stallion at the Danish Warmblood Licensing and also approved for Oldenburg and Swedish warmblood. In 2018 he won the Main Premium title at the Oldenburg Licensing for his excellent first crop of foals and performance test results.
Under Daniel Bachmann Andersen he became the reserve champion as a 4-year old at the 2019 Danish Young Horse Championships.
With the departure of Bachmann from Blue Hors stud, the new rider of Zackerey was a mystery. It was expected that one of the Blue Hors in-house riders would continue the training, but in an unexpected move, the Danish stallion station allocated two of its best sport horses to outside riders. Grand Prix horse Blue Hors Zepter (by Zack) was sent to Andreas Helgstrand, while the younger Zackerey has now relocated north to the yard of Severo Jurado Lopez.
"Severo has the horse and then we'll see what the future brings," Blue hors sport director Ulrik Sorensen confirmed to Eurodressage. When asked why outside riders are now getting more involved in the training of Blue hors owned horses, Sorensen replied, "Blue Hors does what is best for all the horses. We got good riders and they all got very important jobs at Blue Hors. No one is head rider."
Blue Hors did not confirm if Danish team selection for the 2020 World Young Horse Championships in Verden in December are an objective for Jurado and Zackerey.
