Emmelie Scholtens has sold her 6-year old KWPN gelding Joe to American Grand Prix rider Beatrice Marienau.

Joe H is a 2014 born Dutch warmblood by Blue Hors Zatchmo out of Cintia (by Vivaldi x Metall).

The tall chestnut gelding was owned by Scholtens, her partner Jeroen Witte and the Oomen family.

The gelding made his show debut as a 3-year old and his first claim to fame came when he finished fourth in the 2017 VSN Finals for Young Dressage Horses.

In 2018 he finished 8th in the Pavo Cup Finals.  In 2019 he was the runner-up in the Subli Cup Finals at the CDI-W Amsterdam. That year Emmelie tried qualifying him for the World Young Horse Championships, but they were named first reserve for the Dutch team.

Also in 2020 they were long-listed for the Dutch WCYH selection trial, but the horse didn't go and sold instead.

"Our handsome and mega talented Joe has been sold," Emmelie announced on social media. "Unfortunately we can't keep all horses and he found a nice new place in America."

Beatrice "Trixie" Marienau, who is a cousin to British Laura Bechtolsheimer, made her international Grand Prix debut in 2011 on Reve de Neige (by Rosenzauber x Volturno). However, it was Stefano (by Gribaldi x Actueel) with whom she made her break through at GP level in the U.S.A. She competed him internationally from 2013 till 2018.

Joe has moved to horse dealer Leida Collins-Strijk in Riethoven until November, when he'll fly to Florida and reunite with Marienau.
