Portuguese Horses Selected for 2020 World Young Horse Championships

The Portuguese Equestrian Federation (FEP) has released the list of Portuguese nominated horse-and-rider for the 2020 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden, Germany. 

The 2020 World YH Championships will take place indoor on 9 - 13 December 2020. 

Portugal will be represented by four riders and six horses in total with Carlos Caetano riding no less than three of them.

According to a FEP spokesperson, French rider Charlotte Chalvignac is entered by the French federation but representing and filling the Lusitano breed quotum (PSL) in Verden.

The selected riders are

5-year olds

  • Carlos Caetano - Beuys, a Hanoverian gelding by Belantis x Lauries Crusador xx
  • Carlos Caetano - Vanity Fair, a Rhinelander mare by Vivaldi x Sandro Hit
  • Frederico Mexia de Almeida - Ecuador di Fonte Abeti, a Hanoverian stallion by Negro x Sir Donnerhall
  • Joao Pedro Moreira - Furst Kennedy, an Oldenburg stallion by Fursten-Look x Don Kennedy

6-year olds

  • Carlos Caetano - Federer, a Westfalian gelding by Franziskus x Damon Hill
  • Maria Caetano - Jasmim Plus, a Lusitano stallion by Escorial x Peralta Pinha

7-year olds

  • Charlotte Chalvignac Vesin - Irano da Estribeira, a Lusitano stallion by Rubi AR x Hostil)
