Italian Young Riders team member Alice Campanella sees her number one ride, Gracile D.E.S., leave her stable. The liver chestnut mare has been sold to the U.S.A.

Gracile D.E.S is a 9-year old Dutch warmblood mare by Don Schufro out of Meli-Melo (by Rubinstein x Purioso). She is bred by Doede Santema in The Netherlands.

The full sister of the international Grand Prix horse Kartsevo Etoile, Gracile D.E.S. was first competed regionally in The Netherlands by Linda Van der Hauw - Jansma and daughter Kirsten Van der Hauw.

In 2017 the mare was part of the collection of Craig Rawlins' 2017 Equine Elite Auction and sold for 70,000 euro to Classic Dressage in the U.K.

Italian Team Horse

Italian Grand Prix rider Anna Campanella acquired Gracile in 2019 from Craig Rawlins as young riders' horse for her daughter Alice.

The pair made its show debut at the 2019 CDI Keysoe and competed in Sint-Truiden and Brno to get selected on the Italian team for the 2019 European Young Riders Championships in San Giovanni in Marignano, Italy, where they finished 36th in the individual test (68.029%).

With limited opportunity to compete in 2020 due to corona, Campanella was reselected for the Italian team for the 2020 Europeans in Pilisjaszfalu, Hungary, where they were 32nd in the individual test with 66.971%.

The horse was schooling at Under 25 Grand Prix level.

Sold to the U.S.A.

Based in Erp, The Netherlands, the same home town as Anky van Grunsven, the mother-daughter duo runs a sales stable and sold Gracile D.E.S. to a loyal customer from the U.S.A.

Gracile DES will continue as a U25 hopeful for the Bonita Springs, Florida based 14-year old American junior rider Jenaya Olsen.
