Former international Dutch youth rider Kaylee Gouda has sold her number one in the barn, Don Juan, to California.
Don Juan is a 13-year old Dutch warmblood gelding by Vivaldi out of Ferlia (by Architect x Jurist).
The bay gelding Don Juan was Gouda's Young Riders' horse. Kaylee started her international dressage career on ponies in 2010, riding Westerterper Silvan and Don Camillo du Bois until 2013. Kaylee and Don Camillo were Dutch team reserve for the 2013 European Pony Championships. At the end of her pony time she sold Don Camillo to Daphne van Peperstraten and he became one of Holland's most successful team ponies.
In 2015 she competed one CDI at junior riders' level with the Rhinelander bred Reo van het Wohlfarthof (by Riccione x Ulft) before making the transition to Young Riders level in 2016 with Don Juan, which she had bought after the sale of pony Don Camillo.
Trained by Anouk Hansen, Kaylee and Don Juan made their international debut at the CDI Roosendaal in June 2016. Almost a year later they competed at Nieuw en St. Joosland, followed by Hagen, Waregem and Roosendaal indoor. The latter show in December 2017 was Don Juan and Kaylee's last international.
The pair continued competing at national level in Holland and Gouda trained the horse up to Grand Prix level.
The 23-year old now decided to accept an offer and sold her horse to amateur aspiring Grand Prix rider Faith Grimm in California, U.S.A. Kaylee will continue with Don Riccio (by ) and I Am Legend TX (by Dream Boy).
