Austrian Under 25 Grand Prix rider Diana Porsche has welcomed a new horse to her stable: Kentucky.

Kentucky is a soon to be 6-year old KWPN stallion by Desperado out of Vroukje (by Jazz x Damiro x Caritas). He is bred by M. Tijssen.

Sold and AES Licensed

The breeder presented the stallion for licensing at the first phase of the 2018 KWPN Stallion Licensing but was not accepted.

In December 2018 he was licensed for the AES studbook, where new owner Olga Akse presented him.

The stallion received his initial sport training from Saskia van Es, who also became a co-owner. She competed the stallion first in a 4-year old young horse class in February 2019.

A year later the pair finished second in the suitability test for 5-year olds in Someren, The Netherlands. At the 2020 KNHS Indoor Championships in February 2020 the pair became the runners-up in the L2 championship.

In September 2020 they won the Pluvinel Talent competition for 5-year olds.

"He sold a month ago," Saskia van Es told Eurodressage. "Leida (Collins-Strijk) negotiated the sale (for the buyer). I rode and trained him for two years. He's a fantastic horse."

Austria

Diana Porsche announced the arrival of the rising 6-year old stallion in her barn on Instagram.

Porsche operates from her own, brand new built yard Gut Tannbrunn on the outskirts of Salzburg, Austria. She currently competes two Grand Prix horses, Douglas (by Johnson x Lancet) and Chrevi's Ravello (by Skovens Rafael x Chrevis's Cavallo), but has a barn full of rising talent.

Since 2016 Diana has been training with Dutch Leida Collins-Strijk.

"Leida and I have him as a future project and build him up to the higher levels together with some other young horses," Porsche told Eurodressage.

When asked of the 2021 World Young Horse Championships are a goal, Porsche replied, "we don’t have specific goals yet. We will see how everything gets in the next months, but we don’t want to put pressure on the horses. We take enough time and if they feel ready for the next step, then we do it."
