IDOC, the International Dressage Officials Club, and Daniel Göhlen, the man behind the company that developed the paperless judging solution eDressage, are collaborating to develop new online training and education tools for dressage officials worldwide
The purpose of this collaboration is to jointly offer services for all aspiring or active dressage judges to benefit from innovative education possibilities.
Online Education and Shadow Judging
Dressage judges anywhere in the world can participate in interactive online webinars and practice judging the same competitors remotely.
Under the guidance of distinguished FEI course directors, judges receive immediate feedback on their practice judging. Additional statistics about their own marks and marking patterns are made available to Dressage judges and course directors in real-time through the functionality of SAP HANA Cloud.
Successful pilot projects have shown that this interactive education is highly desired and considered to have strong potential to further improve the quality of judge education.
Education is a Top Priority
Hans Christian Matthiesen, President of the IDOC, stated that, "education of the Officials has always been one of our top priorities in IDOC. When this opportunity saw the light of the day, we didn’t hesitate (...). We continue to work for the Officials in order to give them the best possible platform."
Matthiesen continued, "especially in these difficult times, where in-person meetings are restricted, I think we should offer our Officials the chance to improve their judging skills in a good and safe environment with professional course directors and the technology of Black Horse One. Everything will be according to the FEI rules and Education System and we will strive to offer seminars and training for all levels of Officials. So far we are working on seminars/webinars for Dressage and Para Dressage Judges. And we are happy to help National Federations and other officials’ groups as well.”
Daniel Göhlen added, "we always challenge ourselves to provide the most technologically advanced Dressage scoring solutions and support judges in their work wherever possible. We understand judges’ desire to stay connected and have access to interactive and more frequent high-quality education, not only during a global pandemic."
