Rudi on his way to Hubertus Schmidt's Fleyenhof

German Olympian Hubertus Schmidt has added the 4-year old German Sport Horse registered Rudi as a new young talent in his barn. The horse has been purchased by Korean Dong Seon Kim and will be developed by Schmidt.

Not yet officially registered with a name in the German FN database, the liver chestnut gelding is by Revolution out of High Spirit (by Benetton Dream x De Niro x Hill Hawk xx).

The colt is bred by Bavarian breeder Ludwig Geyer and was supposed to be sold as a foal at the Bavarian Elite Foal Auction in Munich in July 2017, but dropped out.

Nicknamed Rudi, the horse was in training with Sebastian Horler, where Hubertus Schmidt tried him out and bought him.

"It was fun to see how both of them clicked in just a few minutes," said Horler. "With a smile he said, "I had a super feeling" when he ended his try-out. We agreed that it was a match."
