The 5-year old Francis Drake and the 6-year old Forty Seven became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the regional show at Julia Bolte's riding stable in Syke-Okel, Germany, on Sunday 16 May 2021.
The regional show was called the "Okel Dressage Days" and brought no less than twenty-six 5-year olds and twenty-three 6-year olds to the starting line for the L and M-level dressage horse test.
5-YO: Francis Drake
A majority of professional riders from four different nations competed in the 5-year old division, which was judged by Hermann Steffens, Michael Krüger and Christoph Brüseke.
Eva Möller topped the leader board with the Oldenburg stallion Francis Drake (by Franklin x Don Schufro), scoring a winning 8.7 total. The stallion, who was purchased by Helgstrand Dressage at the 2016 Oldenburg Elite Foal auction in Vechta for 80,000 euro, received 9s for walk, trot and canter, 7.5 for submission and 9 for general impression.
Lena Stegemann and Felix-Ferdinand Becker's Hanoverian gelding DeLaurentis (by DeLorean x Stedinger) were the runners-up with 8.4 points. The bay gelding earned 8.5 for walk and canter, 9 for trot, 7.5 for submission and 8.5 for general impression.
Leonie Richter and Helgstrand's Oldenburg licensed stallion Fynch Hatton (by Formel Eins x Sir Donnerhall) were third with 8.3 points. This dark bay stallion got 7 for walk, 9.5 for trot, 8.5 for canter, 8 for submission and 8.5 for general impression.
6-YO: Forty Seven
In the 6-year old division judges Steffens, rüger and Susanne Borchers put David Taylor on his partner Peter Perkovic' Oldenburg stallion Forty Seven in the winner's circle with an 8.3 score. The dark bay Fahrenheit x De Niro colt received 8.5 for walk and canter, 8 for trot and submission and 8.5 for general impression.
Nadine Plaster, who recently moved out of her last training base, Stable Löffeld, piloted Elmar Fischer's Westfalian mare Shiva (by Sir Heinrich x Furst Grandios) to a second place with 8.0. The bay mare got straight 8s for walk, trot, canter, submission and general impression.
Annika Korte and Maike Krause's Oldenburg mare Tara OLD (by Tomahawk x Hotline) tied in third place with Anett Müller and Martina Knetsch' Hanoverian stallion Famous K (by Finest x Londonderry). Both horses scored 7.9 and did not (yet) make the minimum standard of 8.0 to qualify for the Bundeschampionate.
