German Teams Selected for 2021 European Children, Junior, Young Riders Championships

Not the German equestrian federation but the riders themselves announced their selection on the German team for the 2021 European Junior and Young Riders Championships in Oliva Nova, Spain, on 5 - 11 July 2021.

At this weekend's 2021 CDIO-PYR Hagen the German team candidates had to battle it out for a team spot and the die was cast there. Their first observation and team selection trial was the Preis der Besten in Warendorf.

German Youth team trainers Caro Roost and Hans-Heinrich Meyer zu Strohen was on the scene to assess the riders and review the scores given by the judges. On Sunday 13 June the riders were informed who made the team.

German Children Team

German Junior Team

Jana Lang - Baron
Lucie-Anouk Baumgurtel - Hugo
Shonna Benner - Brisbane
Lena Merkt - Sarotti Mocca Sahne

Rose Oatley and Rock Revolution were a higher scoring pair than some of the team candidates but Oatley opted to go for ponies and is aiming to get selected with Daddy Moon on the German pony team for the 2021 European Pony Championships in Strzegom, Poland. Daddy Moon was withdrawn from competing in Hagen due to a hoof abscess but should be fit soon.
