The Spanish equestrian federation has announced the short listed riders that are in the running for team selection for the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo on 23 - 28 July 2021.
Nine riders have been short listed and all nine will compete in a final ride-off at the 2021 CDI Grote Brogel on 1 - 4 July 2021 in Belgium. The Spanish team will be announced after this event.
Team selection is done by team trainer Rudolf Zeilinger in agreement with the staff of the technical dressage committee of the Spanish NF.
The nominated riders are:
- Claudio Castilla Ruiz - Alcaide
- Borja Carrascosa Martiner - Laponia
- Jordi Domingo Coll - Esprit Dond D
- Beatriz Ferrer-Salat - Elegance
- Jose Antonio Garcia Mena - Divina Royal / Sorento
- Juan Antonio Jimenez Cobo - Euclides MOR
- Severo Jurado Lopez - Fendi T
- Juan Matute Guimon - Quantico
- Jose Danuel Martin Dockx - Malagueno
