The 5-year old Borghese MT and the 6-year old Dark Hill became the winners of the small Bundeschampionate qualification classes that were held during the 2021 CDI Kronberg on 25 June 2021.
The big tour classes at the CDI Kronberg serve as German Olympic team qualifier but in the morning these national young horse tests were held in the beautiful main arena of Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff's Gestüt Schafhof.
5-YO: Borghese MT
Seven pairs competed in the L-level dressage horse test for 5-year olds, which was judged by Dietrich Plewa, Henning Lehrmann, and Hartwig Knapp.
German Olympian Dorothee Schneider steered the Westfalian stallion Borghese MT (by Baccardi x Laureus) to a clear victory with 8.4 points. The stallion earned 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 9 for canter, and 8.5 for submission and general impression. The stallion was purchased by Sissy Max-Theurer for 370,000 euro at the 2018 Westfalian stallion licensing as a 2.5 -year old.
Ricarda Mombach was the runner-up aboard Alexandra Simons-de Ridder's Westfalian bred Diamantinos (by Dankeschön out of Victoria's Secret (by Vitalis). THe pair scored 8.3 in total after receiving 8 for walk and canter, 8.5 for trot, submission and general impression.
6-YO: Dark Hill
Just four combinations contested the M-level dressage horse test for 6-year olds. The class was judged by Evi Eisenhardt, Dietrich Plewa, and Hartwig Knapp.
German A-squad rider and Olympic hopeful Carina Scholz achieved the young horse high score of the day aboard Maria Günther's Hanoverian bred Dark Hill (by Damon Hill x Stalypso). They won the class with an 8.8 score after getting 9 for walk and trot, 8.5 for canter and submission and 9 for general impression.
German A-squad rider and Olympic hopeful Benjamin Werndl placed second aboard his own and Silke Druckenmüller's Trakehner bred Dallenio (by Millennium x Handryk). The horse got 7.5 for walk, and 8.5 for trot, canter, submission and general impression to finish on a total of 8.3 points.
