The 5-year olds Escorial Q and Beryll and the 6-year old Despacita became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held at the 2021 Westfalian Regional and Young Horse Championships in Munster-Handorf on 29 July - 1 August 2021.
5-YO: Escorial Q and Beryll
With no less than 29 combinations entered in the 5-year old division, the class was split up into two groups.
In group 1 Bianca Nowag rode Elisabeth von Wulffen's Westfalian gelding Escorial Q (by Escolar x Flanagan) to victory with an 8.3 score. The chestnut received 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 8 for canter, 9 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Right on their heels was Sophie Holkenbrink aboard her father Wilhelm's Westfalian stallion Franz Joseph Junior (by Franziskus x Rock Forever). They got 8 for walk, 8.5 for trot and canter, 7.5 for submission and 8.5 for general impression to finish second with 8.2. Benjamin Mitter and Georg Heidig's Oldenburg mare Hannerl( by Apache x Furstenball) placed third with 8.1.
In group 2 Friederike Kampmeyer and Beryll finished on the same high score as Escorial Q - 8.3 - for the trophy. Kampmeyer and Otto Hofer's Westfalian mare (by Benicio x Furst Wilhelm) received 8 for walk, 8.5 for trot and canter, 8 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Melanie Klein and Steffen Brunkhorst's Hanoverian mare Floris Grey (by Floris Prince x Stedinger) were the runners-up with 8.2 points. The black gelding got 7.5 for walk, 9 for trot, 8 for canter and submission and 8.5 for general impression. Florine Kienbauym and her own Westfalian gelding San de Niro (by Serafino x De Niro) were third with 8.1.
6-YO: Despacita
Swedish Jessica Lynn Thomas and her own Oldenburg gelding Redford (by Radisson x Farewell III) were in pursuit and placed second with 8.2 points after earning 8 for walk, canter and submission and 8.5 for trot and general impression.
Kira Wegmann and Winfried Albers' Westfalian mare Scarlett O'Hara (by Scuderia x Laurentianer) slotted in third with 8.1 points. They received 8 for walk and canter, 9.5 for trot, 7 for submission and 8 for general impression.
