Austrian Olympian Victoria Max-Theurer has added another FEI level horse to her string of future prospects. Horses.nl reported that she purchased Nicole de Leeuw's I-Catcher.
I-Catcher is an 8-year old Dutch warmblood by Johnson out of Bo (by Florencio x Metall). The 1.78 m standing bay is bred and trained by De Leeuw.
De Leeuw recently made her national Intermediaire II debut on I-Catcher and had planned on riding Grand Prix with him, but when Isabell Werth twice came to try him out for her student Victoria a deal was struck.
"In fact I didn't want to loose him so the feeling is double," de Leeuw told Horses.nl. "We only made the choice because now Johnny will get all the chances to reach the top. I told a lot of people he wasn't for sale but if Isabell Werth wants to try him, I wouldn't say no. Isabell is a fantastic rider and she immediately clicked with him. That was true joy."
De Leeuw will continue with her home bred Jillz (by Everdale x Florencio x Metall), who is small tour ready.
Victoria Max-Theurer has been going on a shopping spree, buying Grand Prix horses Abegglen in January 2020 and more recently Grand Prix stallion Topas at Gestut Birkhof, where the family also purchased Lord Leopold and Pathetique.
