The 4-year olds Influencer and Maximus became the high scoring stallions in the 2021 North American Stallion Sport Test.
The East coast testing took place at Hilltop Farm in Maryland on 18 - 20 October 2021. The West Coast testing was on 14 - 16 October at Pollyrich Farm in California.
West Coast: Influencer
Five stallions performed in the West Coast stallion sport testing for dressage horses. The judges were Gerd Sickinger, Matthias Granzow, Rudy Leone and Wendy Wergeles, with Charlotte Bredahl serving as discipline expert and Jessica Wisdom as test rider.
The high scorer was Influencer (by Ibiza x De Niro) who finished on the same high score as Maximus: 8.75 points. Influencer got 10 for walk, 8 for trot, 8.5 for canter and rideability and 9 for overall impression. He is bred by Thomas Heuer in Germany, owned by Jessica Greenstein and Exclusive Dressage Imports and presented under saddle by Joseph Newcomb.
Rickhof's Bodo (by Bon Coeur x Freudenprinz) was the runner-up with 8.60 points. Bred by Frank Josef Scharafin in Germany, he got 8.5 for walk and trot, 9 for canter, and 8.5 for rideability and general impression. He is owned by Jessica Greenstein of Exclusive Dressage Imports.
The American bred KPWN stallion Koning DG (by Bordeaux x Jazz) got 8.35 points in total with 8.5 for walk, trot and canter, 9 for rideability and 8.5 for general impression. He is bred and owned by DG Bar Ranch.
East Coast: Maximus
Twelve stallions participated, two withdrew (Party Line HU, Bevin HHV). The test horses aged 4 to 6 years old and the judges were Gerd Sickinger, Matthias Granzow, Rudy Leone and Jim Koford. American Grand Prix rider Olivia LaGoy-Weltz served as discipline expert and Jessica Wisdom was the test rider.
The second best score came from Louisville HTF (by Lord Leatherdale x Negro). The Hilltop Farm bred and owned stallion got 6.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 9 for canter and rideability and 8.5 for general impression.
Two stallions got an 8.25 total score: Epic Eastwood (by Escolar x De Niro) and Marcario MW (by Morricone x San Amour)
For the first time a pony stallion participated in the testing, Haflinger Standing Ovation New Horizons (by Stellar TVR x Adanac). He scored a total of 7.5 points.
