Viva Vitalis, Champion of the 2021 Mecklenburger Stallion Licensing

Viva Vitalis (by Vitalis x Fürst Romancier) became the champion of the 2021 Mecklenburger Stallion Licensing in Redefin on 11 December 2021. 

No less than 48 young dressage bred colts were presented at this licensing, which is open to all warmblood breeds, and 23 of them were approved. Six of them were named premium stallion. 

Vitalis Stands Out

The Dutch bred stallion Vitalis (by Vivaldi x D-Day) stood out with two of his sons named premium, including the champion of the licensing.

The champion was Viva Vitalis (by Vitalis out of Furtherance (by Furst Romancier x Sir Donnerhall x Don Schufro)). His granddam is the elite mare Gesina and dam Furtherance is a full sister to For Romance I and II and Bundeschampion Fasine. 

Schockemöhle brought no less than 10 stallions to the licensing, including jumpers.

Reserve champion by Escolar

The reserve champion was presented by Schockemöhle's business partner, Andreas Helgstrand. 

Bred by Elisabeth Kapp, Expresso (by Escolar) is out of Sanja Anastasia (by Samarant x De Niro x Prince Thatch xx) and registered Hanoverian.

Premium Stallions

There were four further premium stallion, including the only actually Mecklenburger bred one, Donaudiamant (by Donauschall x Dramatiker  x Lamarc), bred and owned by Gestüt Ganschow. 

The Oldenburg bred Der Stern (by Devonport x Stedinger x Quantus), bred by Martina and Hans-Hermann Lagershausen and owned by Sybulle Hüging,  and the  Oldenburg bred Victorian (by Vitalis x Sir Donnerhall x De Niro), bred by Wieghaus-Vorwerk and owned by Helgstrand, also received the premium label.

The sixth premium stallion of the licensing was the Oldenburg bred Expectation PS (by Escamillo x Furst Romancier x Sarkozy), bred and owned by Schockemohle.

Hammer Time

Erdinger x Furstenball
At the auction following the licensing, the most expensive colt was the dressage bred licensed Elvis is Back (by Erdinger x Furstenball x Rubin Royal), which sold for 122,000 euro. 

The second most expensive was the reserve licensing champion for show jumping, a Halifax van de Kluizenbos x Diamant de Semilly colt, which fetched 100,000 euro. 

The licensed Vitamin B2 (by Valverde x Christ x Furst Heinrich) found a new owner in the U.S.A. for 55,000 euro.

The non-licensed young sport colt Sichuan S (by Sezuan's Donnerhall x Follow Me x K2) sold for 50,000 to Chile and will be trained by Svenja Sonrisa. The licensed Furst Jazz x Londonderry x Brentano sold for 34,000 euro, and the non-licensed Florist (by Florenz x Donnerhall x Regazzoni) for 30,000 euro.
