Dutch junior rider's team horse Don Tango B has been sold to the German based Polish junior rider Caroline Pawluk.

Don Tango B is a 13-year old Dutch warmblood gelding by Contango out of Oronia (by Jazz).

KWPN Performance Test Winner

He is bred and owned by Jan and Albert van Boven and is a full brother to the deceased Grand Prix horses Vontango and Tango.

The bay was licensed at the 2011 KWPN Licensing and became the high scorer of the 2011 KWPN spring stallion performance test with 83.5 points.

String of Riders

The tall bay, who ended up being gelded for sport, had a string of riders in his career, five of them, before selling to Germany.

He was first trained and competed by Emmelie Scholtens. The pair placed only 16th place in the 2012 Pavo Cup Semi Finals. Because the then stallion proved to be a handful, Diederik van Silfhout took over in 2013. The duo finished 7th in the 2013 Pavo Cup Finals and were fourth in the consolation finals at the 2013 World Young Horse Championships in Verden.

Don Tango disappeared from the public eye but resurfaced in the summer of 2017, gelded, under Gert Van den Hof.  In 2018 the ride went to Dutch junior Maud de Bruijn. The new pair competing in three internationals:the 2018 CDI-J Aachen and Hagen and the 2019 CDI Exloo.

In 2020 he was partnered with Dutch junior Evi van Rooij, who competed him at the 2020 and 2021 European Junior Riders Championships. In 2020 they were 23rd in the individual test, in 2021 they were fourth on the individual finals. They won team bronze and silver those years.

Sold to Germany

Don Tango will now continue his sport career under Polish Caroline Pawluk, who is the 2021 Polish Junior Riders Champion.

Aboard Fatum she represented Poland for the first time at the 2021 European Junior Riders Championships, where she placed 62nd in the individual test.

In the summer of 2021, the Pawluk family bought the Oldenburg stallion Follow Me (by Furstenball x Donnerschwee) for Caroline to ride and they have now added Don Tango B to their collection.

"Can’t wait for the future with this special, special horse," said Caroline.
