The 10-year old Oldenburg stallion Santo Dottore has been acquired by the German medal winning pony team rider Antonia Roth as her junior riders' hopeful.

Santo Dottore is by Sir Donnerhall out of Egalite II (by Rubinstein x Feiner Stern x Harlekin). He is bred by Günter Lüschen.

Licensed Stallion

The black was licensed at the 2013 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing, where he was fourth ranked in the premium ring.

He did his 30-day performance test a year later in November 2014, scoring 8.44 for dressage and 6.80 for show jumping to finish on a 7.77 total.

In February 2016 he did his sport test in Munster-Handorf and scored 8.37 points.

Although he fulfilled the requirements for breeding, no offspring is registered with the German equestrian federation.

Sport Career

Santo Dottore has been trained and competed by Katrin Burger his entire life. He was owned by Friedhelm Henning.

He made his show debut in Ludwigsburg in May 2014 and won the 2014 Oldenburg Young Horse Championships in Rastede. A year later he was third in Rastede.

In 2016 he represented Germany at the World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo and finished 8th in the consolation final. A month later he placed seventh in the 5-year old dressage horse finals at the Bundeschampionate in Warendorf.

In 2017 he became a bronze medal winner at the Bundeschampionate in the 6-year old division. He moved up to Prix St Georges level in 2018 and mainly competed at regional shows with Burger since then.

In 2021 Burger moved the stallion up to Medium tour and Inter II level. He did his last show in May of this year.

Antonia Roth

Santo Dottore has now been sold to German pony rider Antonia Roth, who is based at Oberbiegelhof near Bad Rappenau.

Roth is a highly decorated German team rider. Aboard Daily Pleasure she won team gold and bronze at the 2020 European Pony Championships and team gold and double silver at the 2021 Europeans. In 2020 she won silver at the German Pony Championships.

Unfortunately after a highly successful Europeans, Roth could not finish the year as she had liked to by participating in the 2021 German Pony Championships and CDI Aachen Indoor Young Stars.  In Strzegom, Antonia had slipped and fallen and although at first it seemed harmless, she began to experience back pain upon her return to Germany.

"After a few days, when we returned to Germany, it hurt so much that we went to hospital. The spines had been injured but not broken.  Since then Antonia wasn’t allowed to do any sports," mother Dorothea Roth told Eurodressage.

As Antonia was in her last year on ponies, Daily Pleasure has moved on to younger sister Franziska Roth, while Antonia will continue with Santo Dottore.
