Dutch Under 25 rider Febe van Zwambagt is not without horses after her recent decision to resign as an assistant rider at Alex and Diederik van Silfhout's yard and subsequent sale of her two Grand Prix horses Fyeo and Edson.
A month ago Van Zwambagt received a new horse in training, the 9-year old Oldenburg bred Bosco (by Benicio out of Harfe (by Quaterback x Garut Humbursky)).
The German stallion has had several names in his life: Baysan MD, Altmarkshof's Be Happy, and Bosco. He is bred by Dr. Marlies Dobberthien at brood farm Altmarkhof and sold as Be Happy as a foal at the 2013 Oldenburg Elite Foal Auction.
Dutch horse dealer Rom Vermunt told CAP in 2020 he discovered the foal at the auction and is co-owner of the stallion together with Bruver BV.
He moved to the yard of Titan Wilaras, who owned Platinum Stable in The Netherlands at the time, where Kirsten and Annemarie Brouwer were taking care of the horse as a youngster. Rider Esmee van Gijtenbeek began riding the stallion in October 2019 and took the 165 cm standing Bosco from M-level to Prix St Georges, schooling Grand Prix.
The stallion has only been very lightly competed at some regional shows in The Netherlands. Van Zwambagt, however, plans to change that and first ride the horse in some PSG-level practice shows and aim for Under 25.
