Quaterboldl, the 2015 French Young Horse Champion and a licensed breeding stallion, has been sold to the U.S.A..

Quaterbold is a 13-year old Oldenburg stallion by Quaterback out of Bold Lady (by Donnerschwee x Landadel). He is bred by Gerd Sosath.

Licensed Stallion

The 2009 born stallion was first approved for the Oldenburg society in a late licensing in December 2012.

In 2014 he was accepted by the Selle Français studbook and later on he got approved for Hanoverian breeding at a licensing in France in 2018.

He did his 70-day stallion performance test in Schlieckau in the autumn of 2012 and scored 7.65 for dressage and 7.59 for show jumping to finish on a total of 7.62 points.

He was a fairly popular breeding stallion in France with his most successful offspring being Muschamp Quelle Classe and Muschamp's Queen OLD. Qir Royal du Payrol  became the 2015 French Foal Champion and Jaguar du Vana and Jolana de Valdi were highly ranked at the 2019 French Foal Championship.

Sold to France

Lars Ligus on Quaterbold
In 2013 Quaterbold sold to German born veterinarian Dirk Längle, who owns Haras du Payrol in Archigny, France, and received the suffix "du Payrol" behind his name.

Under the care of Céline Chabay and ridden by Alizee Roussel, the dark bay stallion made his show debut as a 4-year old in Le Mans in March 2013.

At the 2014 French Young Horse Championships he finished 8th as a 5-year old and in 2015 he won gold as a 6-year old. He represented France at the 2015 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, where he was 24th in the 6-year old consolation finals.  In 2016 he was 6th at the French Championships for 7-year olds.

In 2017 he made his international small tour debut in Saumur and half a year later also contested the CDI Le Mans. It was his last international in his career, so far. In 2018 he competed in his last national in France at Vierzon, where he placed 6th in the French Small Tour Championship.

Hof Kasselmann

In August 2019 the stallion moved to Hof Kasselmann to be sold.

Lars Ligus took over the ride and showed him at several regional events at small tour level in 2020. In 2021 Belgian Dries van Dyck presented him in one S-level test. In the autumn of 2021 Lars was back onboard and piloted Quaterbold to a 7th place in the Intermediaire II at the CDN Ankum.
