Andreas Helgstrand will be making his national Grand Prix debut with WCYH medal winning horses, the rising 8-year olds Jovian and Queenparks Wendy, in Aarhus this weekend.

With the 2022 World Championships Dressage taking place in Herning this year, Denmark is going all in for a team gold medal. Especially in the absence of Olympic champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl (pregnant) and with the retirement of Isabell Werth's top horses Weihegold and Bella Rose, the door is open for Denmark to stake their claim for gold.

Helgstrand, who vied for a Danish Olympic team spot with Fiontini in 2021, now has three rising Grand Prix horses for the 2022 show season. In September 2021 he won gold with Jovian (by Apache x Tango) and placed 6th with Queenparks Wendy (by Sezuan x Blue Hors Soprano) at the World Young Horse Championships. With no time to waste, he is skipping the small tour entirely, and introducing these two to Grand Prix this year.

Cathrine Rasmussen's Jovian and Bolette Wandt's Wendy are scheduled to make their national Grand Prix debut at the CDN Aarhus in Mårslet on Saturday 26 March 2022.

Both horses already showed off their Grand Prix moves at the gala show of the 2022 Danish Warmblood stallion licensing in Herning last weekend, where also Andreas' third potential Grand Prix horse, Revolution (by Rocky Lee x Rouletto), made an "acte de presence." Revolution was last competed in September 2020 in a national Prix St Georges.

In the CDI classes in Herning, riders Cathrine Dufour (Bohemian), Carina Cassoe Kruth (Heiline's Danciera), Daniel Bachmann Andersen (Marshall Bell) and Nanna Skodborg Merrald (Blue Hors Zatchmo) produced mid seventy percentage scores, promoting themselves as the most likely candidates for a team spot for the World Championships.
