The Finnish equestrian federation has announced her final pick for a team for the 2022 World Championships Dressage in Herning.
After already having named the five final riders, the federation still had to make a decision on who was fourth team rider and who reserve.
The choice was between 2021 European U25 Championship team rider Anna Tallberg and the brand new pair, Stella Hagelstam on Mount St. John KOM Fairy Tale, who only became a pair mid May.
Trained by Daniel Bachmann, Anna Tallberg competed her 12-year old Danish warmblood Grevens Zorro (by Zack) at the CDI's in Hagen, Aalborg, Aachen Dressage Days, and Flyinge this year. She scored 69.500%, 66.022%, 63.543% and 66.587% in the Grand Prix.
Stella Hagelstam and the16-year old Finnish warmblood mare KOM Fairy Tale (by Furst Heinrich x Weltmeyer) competed in three CDI's in Parnu, the Aachen Dressage Days, and Flyinge. She got 69.474%, 66.131% and 66.478%.
Finnish team trainer Rien van der Schaft chose Hagelstam, who previously represented Finland at the 2013 European Championships in Herning and 2014 World Equestrian Games. She will join Henri Ruoste (Kontestro DB or Rossetti), Emma Kanerva (Greek Air, Mist of Titanium) and Mikaela Soratie (Hot Casanova) on the team. The riders selected with the two horses can make their own choice in horse.
