German team member Rose Oatley has travelled to Hartpury with her direct reserve horse Veneno to represent her country at the 2022 European Junior Riders Championships.
Rose Oatley, who is the 2021 European Pony champion but who focused on competing her two horses this year, is selected on the German team alongside Carolina Miesner (Exclusiv), Allegra Schmitz Morkramer (Libertad), and Lana Pinou Baumgurtel (Founder).
Oatley was supposed to compete her number one, Rock Revolution, but it was stablemate Veneno, an 11-year old Westfalian by Vitalis x Diamond Hit, that made the trip across the Channel.
"Rocky unfortunately had a hoof abscess last week," Kristy Oatley told Eurodressage. "He was only back in light work end of this week. We decided that due to the long trip and best interest for Rocky we decided that Veneno is our number one for the Europeans."
Rose stated, "so happy to start this journey with Nemo and looking forward to our first training tomorrow after we had a little walk this evening."
The European JR/YR Championships begin on Monday 25 July with the opening ceremony and the team test kicks off on Tuesday 26 July 2022.
