The KWPN bred and Oldenburg licensed stallion Ibiza has boomeranged back to Holland and returned to Emmelie Scholtens' barn, once more. The horse left Germany in September;

Ibiza is a 9-year old KWPN stallion (by Desperado x Jazz), bred by Luc Boogert in The Netherlands.

Ibiza was discovered as a foal by horse dealers Eugene Reesink and Ad Valk, who sold him for 72,000 euro to Jan Vink at the 2013 Midden-Nederland Foal Auction, but that deal turned out to be a non-sale.

Germany

Reesink and Valk presented him at the 2015 Oldenburg Stallion licensing in Vechta, Germany, where he was approved. At the auction he was bought back by the owners for 170,000 euro, but then sold him a few hours later privately to company Asgard Dressage of German Vasco Janke.

Ibiza did his 14-day Stallion Suitability Test in Adelheidsdorf, Germany, in the spring of 2016 and scored 8.0.  At the 2017 German Stallion Sport Test in Munster, he got a 8.73 final score.

With Emmelie Scholtens in 2017
In 2017 Ibiza moved to Holland to be trained by Emmelie Scholtens.

She finished fifth with him in the 2017 Pavo Cup Finals and did the first qualifier of the 2017-2018 KWPN Stallion Competition circuit, but the stallion bit his tongue and was excused from the test. He never again competed on the circuit and is still not KWPN approved.

Germany

With a bigger breeding market in Germany and being German licensed, Ibiza moved to Germany in 2018 and was put in training with Juliane Brunkhorst.

She piloted him at the 2018 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo, where they finished 6th in the Finals.

After Ermelo, Ibiza had a 13-month show break to return to the ring in September 2019 in Medingen, where he won an M-level dressage horse test.

At the beginning of January 2020  Ibiza was trailered back to Emmelie Scholtens in The Netherlands, who trained him to small tour level, but did not show him.

With Gribbe in December 2021 and February 2022
In February 2021 the stallion returned back to Germany to stand at stud at Marti Determann's station in Vechta. Owner Vasco Janke told Eurodressage at the time that Kira Wulferding would be training the horse, but instead it was Markus Gribbe who was allocated the ride.

After a 26-month absence from the competition, Ibiza returned to the arena with Gribbe on 11 December 2021 at the local show in Vreschen-Bokel.

In 2022 Gribbe showed the chestnut stallion at several local shows in Vreschen-Bokel (5x), in Dohren, and in Haftenkamp. He was shown in the S* test. Their last competition was on 2 July 2022 in Vreschen-Bokel.

In September Ibiza returned to Emmelie Scholtens' barn in The Netherlands. Horses.nl made the news of Ibiza's return to the homeland public yesterday.

To Eurodressage, Emmelie commented that "he's back now for two months. We don't have a plan. First we need to become a combination again and hopefully soon we'll do a small tour test."

Scholtens added that she is not informed about breeding plans. Eurodressage reached out to owner Vasco Janke, but did not receive a reply.
