Denmark's number one Grand Prix rider Cathrine Dufour lost both her top Grand Prix horses recently. Vamos Amigos (by Vitalis x Hotline) moved home to owner Annabella Pidgley in the U.K. and Bohemian (by Bordeaux x Samarant) sold as a new ride for Korean Dong Seon Kim.

With the 8-year old Vividus QRE (by Zaladin MI) in full preparation for the Grand Prix, Dufour went on the lookout for new talent in her barn, and found another Vitalis.

Dufour and her wife Rasmine Laudrup purchased the 4-year old HP Viard (by Vitalis out of the late HP Elfenliebe (by Diamond Hit x De Niro)), bred and owned by Lone Boegh Henriksen, the co-owner of sire Vitalis.

"It only took me 9 sec of video to fall in love with this young man, and I’m thankful that HP Horses wanted us to be his new owners," said Dufour. "we'll do everything to give him the best life."

In an interview with Ridehesten, Cathrine stated, "It's no secret that my heart is soft for Vamos, and Viard reminds me of him in many ways in his way of looking at the world and being both curious and a little cautious."

Boegh Henriksen made a cold call to Dufour, sending her the video of her horse to see if she liked it. Cathrine immediately jumped at the occasion and went to try the horse the next day. Lone  is thrilled that Dufour selected her horse as a future hopeful. "We are so grateful he came into (Cathrine's) barn," said Lone. "We couldn't imagine a better place."
