The 5-year old Stromberg and the 6-year old Fürstin Grace Kelly became the winners of the Bundeschampionate qualification classes held during the Dressage Days at the Aasee in Munster on Ascension day, 18 May 2023. The small lakeside competition was sponsored by Hof Kasselmann.
5-YO: Stromberg
No less than 24 pairs contested the L-level dressage horse test, which was judged by Katja Westendarp, Uwe Fährenkämper, and Harry Lorenz.
German squad rider Carina Scholz and Nadine Brosswitz' Westfalian gelding Stromberg took home the trophy with a total of 8.2 points. The Secret x Sunday offspring got 7 for walk, and 8.5 for trot, canter, submission and general impression.
Bianca Nowag and Franz-Georg Ottmann's Westfalian mare Baroness Bibi (by Benicio x Don Romantic) were second with 8.1. points in total. The liver chestnut mare got 9 for walk, 8 for trot, 7.5 for canter and 8 for submission and general impression.
6-YO: Furstin Grace Kelly
The M-level dressage horse test for 6-year olds featured ten pairs and they were judged by Westendarp, Lorenz and Peter Mannheims.
Belgian Dries van Dyck topped the leaderboard with 8.2. points. Van Dijck and Theo Bongartz' Oldenburg mare Furstin Grace Kelly (by Finnigan x Furst Romancier) received 8 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 8 for canter and submission and 8.5 for general impression. Van Dyck originally came from Jeroen Devroe's stable in Belgium, before moving to Germany to be part of the Hof Kasselmann team. He now works independently out of Oliver Oelrich’s yard.
Merle Ochsenfarth and her own Oldenburg mare De Lorea (by DeLorean x Don Primero) followed them closely in second place with 8.1 points. The combination received 8.5 for walk and 8 for trot, canter, submission and general impression.
