Destiny OLD, Kristina Sprehe's internationally competed Grand Prix horse, has been allocated to Italian Under 25 rider Beatrice Arturi as her schoolmaster. The pair made its CDI debut in Pilisjaszfalu on 8 - 11 June 2023.

Destiny OLD is a 14-year old Oldenburg by Desperados out of Samira (by Sandro Hit x Argentinus). He is bred by Diedrich Wiggers.

Sandra Nuxoll

The bay gelding was first owned, trained and competed by Austrian born German Sandra Nuxoll (née Kopf).

Their show debut was in 2014 at L- level and they finished 11th at the 2015 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf.  They made the transition to developing Prix St Georges horse level in 2016 and qualified for the 2016 Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals. At the Finals in Frankfurt they finished 10th.

Kristina Sprehe

In March 2017 Destiny sold to the Sprehe family for Rio Olympic medal winner Kristina Bröring-Sprehe as as a successor for her career making horse, Desperados.

After a successful career as a youth rider on horses Rose Noir, Royal Flash and Donnerball, Sprehe broke through with Desperados, who was trained to Grand Prix level by Falk Rosenbauer. They became Germany's number one Grand Prix pair in the mid 2010s winning medals at the European and World Championships as well as the Olympic Games. Desperados struggled with injury between 2017 and 2018 and was quietly retired from sport at the end of 2018.

Sprehe and Destiny at the 2017 CDIO Aachen
Sprehe had her international premier on Destiny at the 2017 CDIO Aachen at small tour level and competed in Darmstadt two months later.  A three year break from international sport followed for Destiny and he made his international Grand Prix debut at the CDI Herning in March 2020, winning both the Grand Prix and Special. It was the pair's first and last CDI together. Sprehe rode Destiny at one more national show in Herbergen-Essen in June 2020. That was the horse's last competition in three years.

Sprehe herself went on to do two more internationals. Aboard Saphira Royal she competed in April and May of 2021 in Hagen and Munich. Since then she has seemingly called her competitive career quits and is now a full-time mom of two children. Saphira Royal was sent to Hof Kasselmann to be sold and found a new owner and rider in Jemma Heran. Sprehe declined to comment on Eurodressage's questions about her future plans as a dressage rider.

Beatrice Arturi

After a 3-year old break from competition, Destiny OLD made a show come back at Under 25 Grand Prix level with Italian Beatrice Arturi, who is an assistant rider at Gestüt Sprehe.  Trained by Sabine Rueben, the pair scored a double victory at the 2023 CDIO  Pilisjaszfalu with 69.559% in the Intermediaire II and 69.231% in the short Grand Prix.

Arturi and Destiny OLD
"Destiny arrived in my barn last September and was only meant to enjoy his life on the paddock and being ridden easily by our apprentice," Sabine Rueben told Eurodressage. She hadded that the horse has been injured and was only in light work.  "I told her you can ride all the GP movements to get a feeling for that. Then Destiny always looked very happy, like a king showing off, each time he was asked to do more than the basics."

With the horse's fitness back on track, Rueben went to Albert Sprehe asking permission to let Beatrice Arturi take over the ride.

"We want to give Bea the opportunity to do some international U25 shows and Destiny would be a great ride for her," said Sabine. "Of course Bea is in my point of view already very strong with young horses and the Prix St Georges, but then to pick up the reigns and show the U 25 we needed a few weeks to polish that. I love working with her and my motto in general is 'give rise to happiness'."

Bea is thrilled to have taken over the reins. "Destiny always makes me smile," she stated. "Destiny is amazing. We were first placed at our first competition together in the U25. I'm grateful to my top team for supporting me."
