British Horses Selected for 2023 World Young Horse Championships

British Dressage has selected the following horses and riders to represent Great Britain at the 2023 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo, the Netherlands, 3 - 6 August 2023.

British Dressage has six slots to fill, two per age category, but four horses in total have been nominated.

Three further British riders (Lottie Fry, Phoebe Peters, Joseph Hunt) will be competing in Ermelo but for KWPN/The Netherlands and ANCCE/Spain.

Representing Great Britain on British horses are:

5-year olds

  • Amy Woodhead with Emma Blundell's MSJ Viva Dannebrog (chestnut mare, 2018, Vitalis x Don Schufro, HANN). Breeder: Mount St John Equestrian LLP

6-year olds

  • Beth Bainbridge with Elite Dressage's My Pride (bay gelding, 2017, Toto Jr x Johnson, KWPN). 

7-year olds

  • Laura Tomlinson with her own and Mrs Ursula Bechtolsheimer's Full Moon II (dark bay gelding, 2016, Furstenball x Gribaldi, OLDBG). Breeder: Dr Wilfried Bechtolsheimer & Mrs Ursula Bechtolsheimer
  • Sarah Rogers  with Mrs Ursula Bechtolsheimer's Forest Hill (bay gelding, 2016, Furstenlook x United, OLDBG). Breeder: Dr Wilfried Bechtolsheimer & Mrs Ursula Bechtolsheimer
    • Reserve: Sarah Millis with her own Le Zorro BH (black gelding, 2016, Hero x Florencio I, KWPN).
