The Mexican equestrian federation has selected its first ever pair that will represent Mexico at the 2023 World Championships for young dressage horses in Ermelo, on 3 - 6 August 2023.

One Mexican combination achieved the Minimum Eligibility Requirement to compete in Ermelo and has decided to make the trip across the Atlantic for the event.

The combination is

  • José Agustin Gonzalez Flores on Sammy De Luxe, a 5-year old Hanoverian by Secret x Franziskus, bred by Heike and Hermann Bonhorst.

The horse is owned by Paulina Villareal and will be presented by the 22-year old José, who competed him at the CDI's in Monterrey and Mexico City this spring, scoring between 78.200 and 83.600 points

"They are part of a partnership project with Las Morerias, one of the most important breeding stables in Mexico," Villareal told Eurodressage. "All this as result of a program that started 3 years ago by Miss Lorena Morales in order to promote the top quality Young Horses in our country."
