KWPN Zeeland reported that the renowned KWPN broodmare Rita Morka has passed away age 25. She was owned by Loucky Hagens-Groosman and produced three licensed stallions.

Rita Morka was by Jazz out of Idamorka (by Zuidhorn x Vindicator). She was bred by the late Huub van Helvoirt.

Hagens-Groosman purchased the bay Rita Morka as a foal from the breeder, flying over from the U.S.A. with 20,000 USD in an envelope.  Loucky and her mares were initially located in the U.S.A. but in 2007 the Dutch born moved back to Holland with her horses.

Four times she was bred to the stallion Contango and two licensed stallions came from it: Citango and Camorkus. The latter is an international Grand Prix horse, just like his non-licensed full brother Wamorkus. Offspring Mamorkus (by Ferdinand) was also licensed.

Her daughter Fifth Avenue (previously named Famorka, by Romanov) made it to the KWPN Mare Championship, just like Namorka (by Vitalis) and Lita Morka (by Toto jr).

Rita Morka was a KWPN elite preferent prestation mare. The mare had undergone a C-section and after that was bred to for embryotransfer.
