The Aalborg court ruled in favour of the Danish TV station TV 2, turning down Danish horse dealer Andreas Helgstrand's request for an injunction.
Helgstrand filed an injunction after he found out a groom went undercover and made secret footage of the horses, training, and conversations for the documentary Operation X, which is scheduled to be aired in the autumn. No precise date has been announced.
The two parties met in Aalborg court on Monday 21 August 2023 and the verdict was cast on 4 September 2023.
After the verdict Helgstrand issued a statement mentioning that "this case and TV 2's choice of method hold a matter of principle significance, and therefore, we will appeal the decision of the Aalborg Court to the Court of Appeal."
"We are now awaiting the Court of Appeal's processing and decision and will refrain from making further comments until then."
