Charlotta Rogerson's career starting FEI pony, Vincento Royal, has passed away on 20 September 2023. He was 17 years old.
Vincento Royal was a 2006 born Westfalian riding pony by Vincent out of Nikita (by Notre Beau). He is bred in Germany by Ludwig Strothmann.
Licensed Stallion
The bay pony was presented for approval at the 2008 Westfalian pony stallion licensing under the name "Vincent" and was accepted. He never did his performance test so a breeding career didn't take place.
He was first competed by Danica Duen as a 3-year old and she took him to the 2009 Bundeschampionate, where he finished fifth. A year later the pair returned to the Bundeschaùôpnate in 2010 and they were 9th in the 4-year old riding pony division.
Switzerland
Vincento Royal sold to Switzerland to the Rogerson family and Charlotta made her show debut in the spring of 2012. They were 9th at the 2012 Swiss Pony Championships.
Their international show debut was at the 2013 CDI Vidauban in France, where they stayed for a few weeks to show in back-to-back CDI's and gain mileage. In May they competed in Moorsele before heading to the 2013 European Pony Championships in Arezzo, where they pair finished 46th in the individual competition with 61.854%. They won bronze at the 2013 Swiss Pony Championships.
By 2014 they gelled more and the scores went up. They showed in Saumur and Hagen before riding in their second European Pony Championships, this time in Millstreet and landed 37th place in the individual test with 65.537%. It was their last international as a pair. They were fourth at the 2014 Swiss Pony Championships.
Rerturn to Germany
Vincento Royal moved on as a pony bringing joy to several families in Germany.
He was bought by the German Stückrath family for Cindy Shakira Stückrath to ride. She showed Vincento Royal in Germany at A and L-level in 2015.
His FEI passport mentions two further owners after Stuckrath. They sold him to Nicola Grimme-Fricke and in 2016 Theresa Nabbefeld competed the 10-year old pony in Germany in a few A-level classes. In 2017 Cesarina von Eicken learnt from him for two years. Finally in 2019 Kira-Marie Schwarz showed him at M-level in Germany. This was the last recorded result.
Untimely Passing
Unfortunately Vincento Royal untimely passed away this week.
"His heart stopped beating on the way back to the stables from the field," Rogerson told Eurodressage. "He was happy and healthy to that day and was enjoying the last few years on the field with other ponies.
