French professional dressage rider Camille Judet Cheret has sold her second Grand Prix horse, Scoop du Bois Luric, as a schoolmaster to the U.S.A.

Scoop du Bois Luric is an 18-year old Selle Français bred gelding by Earl out of Kristale du Vallier (by Thurin HN). He is bred by Marc Majurel.

From Show Jumping to Dressage

The chestnut Scoop du Bois started its sport career as a show jumper under Max Thirouin.

Owned by the breeder, the horse then continued its dressage competition career with Camille Judet Cheret, placing fifth at the 2012 French Young Horse Championships as a 6-year old. He was seventh at the 2013 French Championships for 7-year olds.

The horse had his international show debut under Camille Judet Cheret in 2015 at medium tour level in Deauville. In 2016 there were no CDI's but in 2017 they started showing at international Grand Prix level, first in Le Mans and then in Compiegne and Kronenberg through June 2019.

A two-year break followed but in 2020 they won the national medium tour championship. They returned to the CDI ring in Crozet in August 2021. Their busiest year was in 2022 with starts in Le Mans, Jerez, Compiegne, Hagen, Deauville, Crozet, Ermelo, and Kronenberg Indoor. Also at age 17, the gelding motored on and performed at internationals in Exloo, Le Mans, Lier and Jardy. The latter being his last international

Crossing the Atlantic

Judet has now sold Majurel's horse to Anne Hurwitz in the U.S.A. as a schoolmaster.

"In 2024, Scoop turned 18 years old," Judet wrote. "There is no way this horse was ready for retirement (he absolutely loves training, being a sport horse and being the number 1 in the stable) but he definitely deserved to step down from international GP competitions with all the travelling involved."

Hurwitz also owns Alexandra Barbancon and Pierre Volla's previous FEI horse, Silvermoons Mariechen.

Judet also recently sold her 2023 World Young Horse Championship ride Fetiche de Hus (by Don Juan de Hus x Belissimo M) to the U.S.A. He sold to Renee O'Leary‘s Old Raptor Farm.
