Four years into his independence, Danish team rider Daniel Bachmann Andersen has found and bought his own yard, Anette Ejlersgaard's farm.

He and his family will be moving to the new property in August. The family has more reasons to be happy as Daniel's wife Tiril is expecting her third child.

Building a Career

The 33-year old Bachmann has been a professional rider since his late teenage years. He began his career as a pro as a 16-year old, working at Rudolf Zeilinger's yard in Esmburen. He then moved to Andreas Helgstrand's yard in Denmark and in 2014 relocated to Blue Hors where he stayed for six years.

In May 2020 he surprised all by announcing his resignation as head rider at Blue Hors, where he so far had achieved his greatest career highlights. He first moved to Cathrine Rasmussen's Kleppenhus in Ebeltoft to set up his own ship, and two years ago rented boxes at Agnete Kirk Thinggaard's Julianelyst.

The Bachmann family has now found a place of their own where they can grow roots: the yard of Anette Ejlersgaard. The farm is located in Malling, north of Odder and close to Aarhus.

Stemming from a family of entrepreneurs, Anette Ejlersgaard is part of the board of company Starco A/S (now known as Bohnenkamp A/S) as well as a string of other finance and real estate companies the family runs. She tragically lost her parents in the Concorde accident, which put her and family members in charge of the business. Anette is an accomplished dressage rider in her own right, trained by Andreas Helgstrand. She is married to Peter Koch Ejlersgaard.

Ejlersgaard farm was temporarily the home base of Danish young rider Thilde Rude Hare. She moved out in February 2024 and returned to Vaerloese.  Bachmann will move in this summer.

Exciting Summer

"We will move after Paris if I get on the (Olympic) team," Bachmann told Eurodressage. "We will have 21 boxes)."

Bachmann just wrapped up his weekend riding his second Grand Prix horse, the 10-year old Shirley (by Sezuan x Solos Carex), to a 7th place in the 2024 Danish Grand Prix Championships. His number one, Vayron (by Vitalis x Gloster) stayed home in agreement with the Danish technical staff (Binder, Wittig).

"The Danish Championship is not mandatory for us," said Daniel. "We decided  to give him a break as he has been really good the last two shows. I will ride Vayron at one more Nations cup - either Rotterdam or Aachen - before Paris. It will be official next week where we all ride (which CDIO)."

Bachmann had more exciting news to share. He and his wife Tiril are expecting their third child alongside daughter Filippa and son Fredrik.

"We are over the moon and the baby is due in the beginning of November," said Daniel.
