British Teams Announced for 2024 European Youth Championships

The British Dressage Selectors have announced the combinations selected to represent Great Britain at the 2024 FEI European Championships across all five age categories.  

British Dressage U21 Selectors have selected four complete teams and one individual children representative for the Championships.

The Young Rider and Under 25 European Championships are the first to take place at St Margarethen, Austria, on 16 – 21 July, followed by the FEI Pony, Junior and Children on Horses European Championships hosted at Opglabbeek in Belgium from 23 – 28 July.    

The selection was carried out by  Judy Harvey, Jenny Ward and Anne Keen for the U25 and by Nikki Herbert, Richard Baldwin and Steve Arnett for the U21 divisions.

The selected British riders are:

Children

  • Ella-Grace Dovey  with David Pincus' Sheepcote Jackson (chestnut gelding, 2013, Johnson x Don Primero). 

Pony Riders

  • Sofia Games  with Janet Oliver and Katie Oliver-Games’ Steendieks Cadillac (chestnut gelding, 2011, FS Chambertin, HOLST). 
  • Abigail Gray   with her own George Clooney B.S (grey gelding, 2011, Caesar 171 x Santano, KWPN). 
  • Evie Head  with Lauren Geraghty's WS Jackson (chestnut gelding, 2011, Chiskin Jaguar, AES).   
  • Darcey Blaze Marcus  with Hiedi Marcus’s Ella (grey mare, 2009, Caesar 171) - reserve pony: Hiedi Marcus’s Tackmann’s Dark Deluxe (dun gelding, 2015, D-Day AT x Dornik B). 

The first reserve is Madi Haerr  with her own and Hetty Sclater's Machno Excalibur (dark bay gelding, 2012, Rossgold Sunstar x Llansantffraed Seracen). 

The second reserve is Daisy Bullman  with her own and Eleanor Darling and Andrew Constable’s Godrics Dionysus (bay stallion, 2016, Danger 36 x Donnerwetter). 

Junior Riders

  • Mette Dahl  with Fiona Bigwood’s Fidelio Van Het Bloemenhof (chestnut gelding, 2009, Fidertanz x Jazz, BWP).   
  • Myles Graham   with Caroline Bell’s Nibeley Union Hit (dark bay mare, 2007, Nibeley Union Jack x Sandro Hit, AES) - reserve horse: Josephine Eley's Nibeley Black Pearl (black mare, 2012, Nibeley Union Jack x Conto, AES). 
  • Ruby Hughes   with Carl Hester's Brioso (chestnut mare, 2010, Benetton Dream x Dimaggio) - reserve horse: her own, Gareth and Rebecca Hughes and Julia Hornig’s Classic Goldstrike (chestnut gelding, 2011, Tango x Krack C, KWPN). 
  • Isla Sully   with Cassandra Sully’s Vagabond de Massa (bay gelding, 2009, Reito x Xaquiro, LUSIT). 

The first reserve  is Sophie Wallace with her own First Light (grey gelding, 2016, Fürstenball, OLDBG).

The second reserve is Sofia Games  with Leslie Forlee’s Boccelli 6 (liver chestnut gelding, 2007, Belissimo M x Riccione, WESTF). 

Young Riders

  • India Durman-Mills   with Verity Saul’s Escade (bay gelding, 2009, Jazz, KWPN). 
  • Oliver Gould  with Amanda Towle’s Virtue (chestnut gelding, 2012, Vitalis, WESTF). 
  • Isobel Lickley   with Rob Lickley’s Nymphenburg's First Ampere (bay stallion, 2011, Ampere x Weltruhm, HANN) - reserve horse: Rob and Nicola Lickley’s Katniss (liver chestnut mare, 2015, Galaxie x Charmeur, KWPN). 
  • Hermione Tottman  with Niki Tottman’s Exquisite (bay gelding, 2008, Lord Loxley, KWPN). 

The first reserve is Lily Laughton with Alicia Laughton’s Hulana T (bay mare, 2012, Ampere x Florencio, KWPN). 

The second reserve is Claudia Davis  with her own Fergus RT (black gelding, 2010, Uphill, KWPN). 

Under 25 

  • Angus Corrie-Deane  with Mary Corrie-Deane's Jack Johnson 2 (bay gelding, 2013, Johnson x Scandic, HANN). 
  • Anna Jesty   with her own Commodore Platinum (chestnut gelding, 2014, BHHS). 
  • Jessica McConkey with Samantha Geddes’ Dior (chestnut stallion, 2008, Gribaldi x Goodtimes, KWPN). 
  • Annabella Pidgley  with Sarah Pidgley’s Gio (chestnut gelding, 2011, Apache x Tango, KWPN) - reserve horse: Sarah Pidgley’s Vamos Amigos (bay gelding, 2012, Vitalis x Hotline, WESTF). 

No reserve combination has been selected
