The Brazilian equestrian federation (CHF) has officially nominated Joao Victor Marcari Oliva as their individual dressage rider at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Renderson Silva de Oliveira has been nominated as the reserve.

The Portuguese based Oliva rides for Thiago Mantovani and has been nominated on two horses: his own 12-year old Westfalian gelding Feel Good VO (by Franziskus x Dimension) and Mantovani’s 15-year old Lusitano stallion Escorial (by  Spartacusx Edo RHE).

Oliva has only been competing Feel Good VO this 2024 show season. Escorial did his last CDI in September 2023 and has not been out since.

Reserve rider Renderson Oliveira is nominated on the 14-year old Lusitano stallion Fogoso Campline (by Rico x Raja). The pair has not shown internationally in 2024. Their last competition were the Pan American Games in October 2023.

Paris will be the third Olympics for Oliva, who also rode in Rio in 2016 (Xama dos Pinhais) and Tokyo in 2021 (Escorial).
