Dutch stallion owner and rehab specialist Marc Haine has found a permanent base for "Haine Horse Center" in Mönchengladbach, Germany. The Dutch equestrian entrepreneur has bought equestrian facility Sportpferde Galleria.
The yard was first owned by the late Otto Stops and home to German rider Michael Fassbender, who trained Haine fifteen year ago.
Home Coming in Mönchengladbach
Marc is highly familiar with the facility and grabbed the opportunity when he heard it was back on the market in the early spring of 2024.
"When we got the opportunity to buy the place, we did so straight away," he told Eurodressage. "It has been totally renovated and enables us to the give our horses the maximum care. The boxes are all covered in rubber and are spacious 4 x 4 m stalls. This is ideal for sport horses and horses being rehabilitated."
With his stable in Mönchengladback Haine aims to build a training, sales and rehab center for top sport horses as well as amateur sports partners. All state of the art facilities are there including indoor and outdoor arenas, a covered lunging ring, paddocks, fields, tack rooms, washing bays, and solariums. The property is fully fenced and has CCTV.
Specialised in Sport Horse Rehabilitation
Haine is a familiar face in the high performance dressage world. Known as a specialist in Equitron and aqua training treatment, Marc has built up a big network of clients.
"We want to support our clients with our expertise at our place, at their home and at shows," said Haine, naming Dinja van Liere, Demi Haerkens, and Jessica Leijser as a few of his more famous, loyal clients.
"You will find us at major shows, such as the CDIO Rotterdam, where we closely help them on a regular basis," said Marc. "We do our rehab in full negotiation with the veterinarians. We have an aqua trainer with salty water which is chilled to 2° C. All these treatments can be combined at our beautiful farm on the Dutch-German border, which enables us to provide horses with the best possible care."
Haine also plans to build a brine chamber on the property.
Training Facility and Stallion Station
Haine's core focus is on the training of young dressage horses up the levels, but he is branching out in the stallion business. Rearing and preparing young colts for licensing, as well as standing stallions at stud will be part of Haine Horse Center.
The head rider at the yard is Austrian Bianca Zinkl while German Anke Unger runs her private business out of this stable. "Bianca will be trying to make a name for herself in Holland and Germany with our horses," said Marc.
Haine owns the 3-year old Dutch warmblood bred stallion So Rafiq (by So Perfect x Glamourdale x Belissimo M), who is licensed for Oldenburg and Westfalia. He is being trained by Robin Kleermans. Sportpferde Galleria's 8-year old KWPN licensed stallion Mister Maserati (by Toto Jr x Jazz x Rubinstein) is also standing at the yard, including eight further stallions in training.
Livery and Training
Haine Horse Center offers full livery for clients and can assist in training and rehabbing horses.
"Zinkl will be in charge of training the horses from novice to the highest level. We also buy foals and produce them ourselves. So Rafiq is the best example because we found him when he was three days old," Haine stated.
Sportpferde Galleria still has a presence at the yard, renting boxes from Haine while riders Mate Garai and Charlotte Tollhopf continue to train their sales horses.
