Wynton Son, the third placed horse in the 2022 Nurnberger Burgpokal Final, has been sold to the Löcher family for young rider Laura Löcher to ride.
Wynton's Son is an 11-year old Hanoverian by Wynton out of Latiffa AC (by Latimer x Feiner Stern x Aktuell). He is bred by Thorsten Hogrefe. Half-sister Schöne Aussicht (by Sir Donnerhall) is dam to licensed stallions Freetown (by Furst Wilhelm) and Tamino (by Totilas).
Sabine Baron-Mannsbarth
Owned by Sabine Baron-Mannsbarth, the Hanoverian made his show debut in September 2017 in Neu-Anspach under Dominik Russo.
The horse was lightly competed by Russo in 2018 and shown a couple of times by the owner through 2019.
Thomas Wagner
As of September 2021 Wynton's Son appeared in the show ring with German professional Thomas Wagner, who debuted him at S-level in Darmstadt-Kranichstein.
In 2022 the pair was successful on the Nurnberger Burgpokal circuit, competing in Kronberg, Elmlohe, and Görlitz, where they won. At the 2022 Burgpokal Finals in Frankfurt, they were 6th in the warm-up round and finished third in the Finals.
A long break from showing followed and Wynton's Son resurfaced in the competition ring in October 2023 still at S-level. Wagner rode him in three classes at the CDN Guxhagen. There were no shows in 2024, so far.
Löcher Family
Baron-Mannsbarth has now sold Wynton's Son to Wagner's student, Laura Löcher.
Young rider Laura Löcher has been active at national small tour level. This year she's been campaigning the 9-year old mare Second Sister vom Rosencarree (by Sandro Hit x Royal Diamond) at S-level and 13-year old gelding Limoncelli (by Lord Loxley x Graphitano) at M-level. The latter she showed at the 2023 German Junior Riders Championships last year. Laura has not yet competed internationally, unlike her brother Paul Löcher (Amaro T, Soul Men, Fraser Island, Limoncelli).
With Wynton's Son she has a new iron in the fire.
"Wynton's Son is a horse that is absolutely willing to perform, always wants to give his best," Laura told Eurodressage. "He is well-behaved and has outstanding quality." When asked about her competition plans, Laura replied that "the goal is to become a combination with Wynton, become a unity and have fun. Everything else will come with time."
Owner Sabine Baron is thrilled with the new pair. "I am very happy to know that Wynton’s Son is in such good hands and I also hope that Laura and Wynton will grow together as a successful team," she told Eurodressage.
