Jill Irving has withdrawn from competing on the Canadian dressage team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, which are due to start on 30 July 2024.

The Canadian Olympic Committee announced the update to the roster of Team Canada equestrian dressage athletes nominated to compete at Paris 2024.

Chris Von Martels and Eclips will replace Jill Irving and Delacroix as third combination to ride for Canada. Irving will remain on team as traveling alternate with Genesis.

Originally the second reserve was Ariana Chia on Guateque but issues with Equestrian Canada in arranging the logistics for the shipping of the horse to Europe ultimate made the team behind Chia decline their participation on 17 July.

Horsesport.com also reported that "due to personal reasons, the original Team Chef d’Equipe and Team Manager Christine Peters will now be replaced by Olympian Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu who will assume the roles and support Team Canada riders on the ground."

The dressage part of the 2024 Olympic Games begins on 30 July with the horse inspection.

Eurodressage is on the scene to cover the event.
