The Dutch team competing on home turf at the 2024 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo (3 - 8 September 2024) has undergone a change.
In the 6-year old division New Orleans has dropped out and will be replaced by the first reserve.
Diederik van Silfhout was scheduled to compete the KWPN licensed stallion New Orleans (by Blue Horse Farrell x Jazz), which he co-owns with Nol Gerritsen.
"New Orleans knocked himself on the fetlock and there's an irritation," Diederik explained. "His recovered is expected not to take long but for the welfare of New Orleans it has bee, decided not to rush it and give him all the time he needs."
The black stallion was licensed in 2022 and scored 83 points in his performance test. He was first competed by Marlou de Ruyter before Van Silfhout took over in September 2023.
First reserve Emmelie Scholtens and No Nonsense D (by Glamourdale x Olivi) have been called up to replace them. The gelding is owned by Witte-Scholtens and MT-stables and was previously shown by Kim Noordijk and Cynthia Eggenkamp before Emmelie took over in the spring of 2024.
Kim Alting and Dark Rousseau (by Dettori) now move into first reserve position and Jessica Lynn Thomas and Nirvana (by Painted Black) are now second reserve.
