With the publication of the definite entry list for the 2024 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo (NED) a change in the Spanish team can be noted.

For the 5-year old division the Spanish duo Alba Abollo Fontela and the CDE bred Secret CS (by Secret x Delinger) are not on the list.

Second Reserve Steps In

They have been replaced not by the first reserve, but the second reserve pair, Marta Bada Gonzalez aboard  the CDE bred Testarossa BCN (by Hogan BCN x Veterano VI x Balido II).

The RFHE did not communicate the reason for Abollo and Secret CS' withdrawal. Eurodressage reached out to Alba, but she chose not to reply.

What About Esence de Centurion?

The first reserve, who was supposed to step in, was Alejandro Oliva aboard the CDE bred Esence De Centurion (by Sezuan's Donnerhall x Furst Romancier). The horse participated in the WCYH selection trials and was last competed by Oliva on 1 June, scoring 79.8 in the 6-year old test.

Eurodressage inquired with Alejandro who stated that Esence is "a young mare that needs more time. We don’t want to train her with too much pressure or don’t be enough prepared for such an important competition."
